“This innovative technology allows for more flexibility in sample collection and sample transportation in diverse environments.”
The decades-old standard for transporting biological samples is cold-chain transportation. This costly, labor-intensive, and environmentally unsustainable option increases packaging waste, increases carbon footprint, and is unattainable in certain parts of the world.
To maximize cost savings and offer an environmentally sustainable option, Mawi DNA Technologies developed a DNA sample collection device that is resilient to transport temperatures and can remain stored and transported at ambient temperatures. This innovative technology allows for more flexibility in sample collection and sample transportation in diverse environments.
An experiment was conducted using the iSWAB-DNA devices to simulate challenging shipping conditions, ensuring the preservation of high-quality samples throughout the transportation process. View the study attached presenting the results surrounding the iSWAB-DNA sample resilience to a wide range of transport conditions From -20C – 50C.
